DIY Van Conversion Stats

We all have dreams.  But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.  ~Jesse Owens

With little to no building expereince we are jumping in head first with Greta's conversion and learning as we go.  We have spent countless hours researching on the internet, talking with other van owners and watching You Tube instructional videos.  Armed with a lot of arm-chair knowledge and a goal we have set off to build our dream land-adventure mobile.  Below you will find a brief summary of the work completed so far (updated often).  Click on the pictures for a link to a more detailed overview of each project (when available). If you have any questions about our projects please reach out , we are happy to help in any way we can.
  1. Espar D2 Heater
    Espar D2 Heater
The Espar D2 Heater taps into the diesel tank and is powered by our solar set up. This little heater cranks out the heat and is relatively quiet. We love it!
  2. Pine Beetle Kill Paneling
    Pine Beetle Kill Paneling
We installed locally sourced pine beetle killed tongue and groove paneling and put on several coats of tung oil. Check back soon for more details on the install.
  3. Isotherm Fridge
    Isotherm Fridge
We are in LOVE with this fridge. Easily holds a weeks worth of food for two people and the little freezer can make ice overnight.
  1. Alpine Mechanism Swivel Seats
    Alpine Mechanism Swivel Seats
Do yourself a favor and pay the extra cash for Alpine Mechanisms swivel seats. They add 1/2 inch height, are easy to operate and no rattle!
  2. Bike Drawer
    Bike Drawer
The bike drawer is on slides that can hold up to 500 pounds. It holds our two mountain bikes and makes loading and unloading them super easy.
  3. Talavera Sink with electric pump
    Talavera Sink with electric pump
This sink fits our personalities and it is just as functional as it is fun! Under the sink we have a 5 gallon fresh water jug and a 6 gallon grey water one. We also have a small electric pump.
